The Community rewards the City Council and the CEIP Petra Sánchez de Los Alcázares in the II edition of the Nativity Scenes contest

II Contest of Nativity Scenes of the Region of Murcia
The Community has awarded the City Council of Los Alcázares and the CEIP Petra Sánchez of the municipality in the II edition of the regional Nativity Scenes contest, organized by the Ministry of Business, Industry and Spokesperson through the General Directorate of Commerce, Consumption and Crafts in collaboration with the BelenCribs International Network Association of Murcia, with the aim of reviving one of the most popular craft traditions, the scenographic creation of a symbolic story that permeates our Christmas culture, the nativity scene.
Likewise, the Center for People with Disabilities in Churra (Murcia) and the Residencia Nuestra de Fátima in Molina de Segura have been awarded in the category of social entities.
In the category of educational centers, the CEIP Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas de Cehegín and the IES Príncipe de Asturias in Lorca, while the CEIP Cristo Crucificado Villa Pilar in the Murcian district of Santo Ángel and the IES Sanje de Alcantarilla have each obtained special mentions .
The award for the nativity scene made by an individual went to Antonio Garre Ponce from the Murcian district of Alquerías and the special mention went to José Luis Soriano de Archena.
For its part, the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish in Molina de Segura has received an award and that of Santiago Apóstol de Santa Lucía, in Cartagena, a special mention.
In the associations and clubs category, the Nativity Scene Association of Lorca received an award and mentions were made by the Cultural Association 'El Pinacho' from Santa Lucía (Cartagena), the Brotherhood of Verónica de Totana and 'El Buen Pastor' from La Aparecida (Cartagena) .
Similarly, the town hall of Archena and the living nativity scene of El Raal (Murcia) have obtained a special mention.
The Minister Ana Martínez Vidal today presided over the awards ceremony at the Murcia Regional Craft Center and pointed to Murcia as "the world capital of Nativity Scene", while highlighting the originality of the winners.
Martínez Vidal congratulated the winners and thanked all the participants in this second edition for their "commitment and effort", "who have prepared and decorated their traditional nativity scenes and cribs in an endearing way of transmitting their particular Christmas spirit to those who visit". In addition, he encouraged everyone to participate in the next edition.
There were 94 participants in this edition of the contest. Of these, 30 were educational centers, 31 individuals, 18 associations and clubs, six town halls, seven parishes and two social entities. Martínez Vidal highlighted their quality, group work and attention to detail.
The jury, made up of people of recognized prestige in the field of staging the Nativity Scene, has taken into account criteria such as the incorporation of representative characteristics of the municipalities of the Region to the representation of the mysteries, staging, perspective, lighting and that the figures are works of nativity scenes from the region.
