THE CRAFT CENTERS OF MURCIA AND CARTAGENA INCORPORATE ACCESSIBLE SIGNAGE
The Murcia and Cartagena Regional Craft Centers have renewed their signage to make it more accessible, in order to improve the experience of visitors and professionals by facilitating orientation in their facilities, identification of their dependencies and general understanding of the environment.
The general director of Consumption and Crafts, Sonia Moreno, presented today the new signage that has been carried out "with criteria of cognitive accessibility and with the active participation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with specific training in the evaluation of built environments, to which has meant a very enriching paid work experience”. These evaluators are part of the Prometeo association, an organization registered in the artisan registry of the Community.
To design the new signage, the General Directorate has also relied on the cognitive accessibility service of Plena Inclusión Región de Murcia, which has evaluated all the areas open to the public.
Cognitive accessibility is one of the three areas that make up universal accessibility, along with physical and sensory accessibility, which seeks to make information, objects, services and environments understandable to everyone without excluding anyone. A few months ago, the reform that includes this concept in state legislation was approved in the Cortes.
